2011 Tailwheels Etc Private Pilot's License Scholarship
The winner of the 2011 Tailwheels Etc. Flight Scholarship competition has been decided.
At 12:00 EDT on May 31st, during a live video feed, John Amundsen announced the top 5 video entries in the scholarship competition, and then Tailwheels Etc. intern Derek Faulkner drew the winner's name out of a jar.
The top 5 entries were:- Bobby Mattox from Clermont Florida
- Rowland Lewis from Naples Florida
- Aileen Orrellana from Miami Florida
- Brandon Sayareth from Portland Oregon, and
- Zach Fortenberry from Murray Kentucky
The Grand Prize winner of the Scholarship was-
- Rowland Lewis from Naples Florida.

Rowland has been awarded everything necessary to the completion of his training for a Private Pilot's License including: all flight time, flight instructor, written test, flight test and books. He will also be receiving FREE accommodations for the duration of his flight training.
The other 4 top contestants will be receiving certificates for 10% off flight training at Tailwheels Etc. as well as certificates for Discovery Flights at a nearby participating flight school.
All participants received a free 6 month subscription to Flight Training magazine.
