aircraft maintenance

"I love airplanes ...flying them, being around them, but especially rebuilding them! There is nothing quite like taking a 70-year-old airplane, tearing it down to the frame. and completely rebuilding it. That is one of life's greatest rewards. Aircraft restoration is my passion. Lucky for me, I get to share that experience with everyone that I meet.

"In high school, I always wanted to do something with my hands. I never wanted to have a desk job or work in an office."

During High School, she fell in love with both airplanes and her future husband, Jonathan Amundsen.

Jonathan's family was involved with planes and Jonathan's father, John, took her up for an airplane ride, she then enrolled in Michigan Community College and got her AA degree...the rest is history!

FAA IA

Elizabeth now works in the family flight school as an aircraft mechanic and and has FAA Inspection Authority (IA).

Liz loved planes and flying, so much, she quickly branched out into other aviation-related fields.

Since she loved teaching people about airplanes and had been flying for about four and one half years, she became a flight instructor.

Liz's students love her, both for her patience as a teacher and her wonderful personality

One of her students, Kevin Spangler of Winter Haven had this to say about Liz:

"I did my pilots licence, with her, and she was a great instructor. She's not just familiar with flying, but she knows the whole airplane, how it works and everything. She knows the plane inside and out. It really adds to the training.

She's such a people person, it makes learning from her so much fun. She pushes you but also works at your personal pace. I finished my license in 40 hours, because of her. You can tell that she loves what she does. Every time you take off she says 'whee!' She makes you have a good time."

Although Liz is totally enamored with planes and flying, she also has another passion...Belly dancing. She has been dancing for many years and loves it.

When you need a total aviation experience, Liz is your woman. She can advise you on which plane to buy, teach you to fly it, fix it for you and entertain while doing it!
