Flight Instructor - Kaleb DePestel
Kaleb DePestel was born in Tampa, Florida and has lived there all his life. Apart from his grandfather being an Air force aviation mechanic and his great grandfather being involved in aviation in the Army, aviation did really run through his family.
It was always a dream of his to become a pilot, but those dreams weren't as big when he was kid. Upon entering High School he grew a greater love for aviation playing with his friend on a flight simulator on his computer.
When he graduated High School he wanted to enter the Air force so he planned to go to College and join the ROTC program, in the hope of being a KC-135 pilot. However that didn't go as planned. After a year in College he left to pursue a different path in aviation.
On September 7, 2015 he started flight training at ATP Flight School in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was here that he got all his licenses, including his CFI, CFII, and MEI. He completed the ATP Pilot Program on June 1, 2016 and soon after began working for ATP as a flight instructor.
After a few months he decided that ATP wasn't where he wanted to work due to differences in views. He decided to leave ATP to further his career somewhere else. That brought him to Tailwheels Etc. which is he is very excited to be working for.
His future plans are to eventually work for Planesense out of Orlando for a few years to get himself established and stable while he starts his life. After that he hopes to either move on to a larger corporate company or move to the airlines.
Besides aviation he has many other hobbies that he loves just as much. He likes to spend most of his free time playing video games or playing the guitar. In High School he majored in music, his main area being guitar. He has been playing guitar for 7 to 8 years now and he also plays Bass and Guitar for the worship group at his church.
