John Amundsen

Background

John Amundsen has a long history in aviation, including operating a flight school in Michigan, prior to opening Tailwheels Etc. in Florida. He was a Line Pilot, flying cargo planes for UPS, Chief Pilot for Classic Air Services and, together with his son Jonathan Amundsen created the accelerated flight training program that allows students to obtain a private pilots license in 2-weeks.

John has logged over 12,000 hours in his 42 years of flying.

His Flight School Philosophy

He is the motivation behind Tailwheels Etc. His belief that a customer's needs come first, have made his flight school the #1 flight school in the nation, at finishing pilots.

While other flight schools lose 80% of their students, John's flight school finishes 95% of the students that start flight training.

John's attitude and love of flying, transmits to his staff and his students. He has provided an area where students can socialize with seasoned pilots and absorb from the "treasure trove" of information available from the former military and airline pilots, FBO managers and private pilots that hang out in the area he has provided for the "Airport Pilots Association".

Besides his involvement with aviation, John is an avid scuba diver and amateur boat builder.

He is currently in the process of building a Glen-L Monte Carlo, from scratch.
